What Customers Say About Xbox 360 Text Messaging Kit:

OK, so I was having kind of a hard time texting while playing, or even answering to ppl that writes me when I'm playing, this little toy puts an end to that, its confortable, it doesn't get in your way while playing, the package includes a headset (wich I didn't notice, so it was a surprise when i recieved it) and 1 month of xbox live GOLD, so it's a good deal. The shipping was speeeeeedy, today is saturday, ordered with FREE 2-day shipping on Amazon Prime :D on thursday and recieved it today in the afternoon, SWEET.Very kewl stuff, stop reading this review and buy it.NOW

The xbox I bought was a special edition that came with one headset and two wireless controllers. Can be hard to put on (kind of have to start inserting it and then jam it in there with your palm to get it to snap on there) I bought this to message people on xbox who don't have the headset, and for when I send friend requests so I can let people I know in real life who is trying to add them. I wasn't aware this package came with a headset; needless to say I was pleasantly surprised by this, as now I have a headset for each controller, although I don't know if you could ever use two headsets at once, or if there would be any reason for that anyway.Pros: Makes messaging a lot easier, does what it's supposed to, included headset is a big plus.Cons: It's pretty bulky, adds some size/weight to the controller that may annoy you when playing games (although it is detachable).

There are dedicated keys for setting "caps" and "Capslock" and accessing special symbols. Finding the special symbols can sometimes be challenging, but once you learn where the common ones are, it becomes second nature. The device is not only handy when sending LIVE messages and Twitter updates, but also when entering text in games -- such as naming a file, naming a character, or doing anything in-game that requires typing text.Sure, you can use a keyboard connected to a USB port on the 360, but it's great having this at your fingertips and not having to put the controller down to pickup a keyboard.Summary: a necessary Xbox 360 accessory. I also can't imagine trying to remove it from a controller, which I would do only if necessary. I thought it required a little more pressure than I expected to get it to snap into place. Since LIVE has added Twitter and Facebook, entering text is becoming standard on Xbox 360. This is a great accessory. Unfortunately, the Xbox 360's on-screen keyboard is annoying to use with the controller. The device snaps onto a controller and uses the headphone interface to communicate with the console. I think you'd probably have to pry it apart with a screwdriver. The device is backlit, which of course means it drains the controller battery faster than usual, but the device is only backlit when in-use.

I couldn't go without it as an online game on Xbox 360. I am often amazed at the speed of communications from friends, especially their messages. I play WoW and I play online Xbox 360 games. This keypad saves you time and effort typing messages to friends. I am an older gamer, born from tape drives and floppy disks bigger than a toaster oven. I am not a power gamer and I don't dig the total social scene of online gaming. Now I see how.

With the release of Facebook, Twitter and Last FM to the Xbox Dashboard. I only bought it for the actual keyboard, but the headset is standard Microsoft Xbox headset. This is a great product to use if you are looking for a way to type faster on Xbox Live. This little kit will come in handy when your typing up comments and status updates on all three social networking sites. The kit also includes headset which was a surprise to me.
